Joining The National Insider Threat Special Interest Group


Benefits Of Joining The NITSIG

  • There is currently No Charge to join the NITSIG.

 

  • The NITSIG is fast becoming (Or May Be) the largest network of Insider Threat Risk Mitigation Security Professionals in the U.S.

  • Mitigating Insider Threats risks is a TEAM EFFORT. The collaboration and sharing of information and best practices among NITSIG members will lead to a more focused and concentrated national effort in helping organizations mitigate Insider Threat risks.

  • NITSIG members may attend meetings at No Charge, and will receive comprehensive training, guidance and best practices that they can use to establish an Insider Threat Program to protect their organizations data, information systems, networks and personnel from Insider Threat risks.

  • Depending on the meeting location, NITSIG meetings may be streamed live or recorded for future viewing.

  • The NITSIG provides an Insider Threat Risk Mitigation website with various documents, resources and training that will assist security professionals with their Insider Threat Risk Mitigation efforts.

  • NITSIG members can earn Continuing Professional Education Credits (CPEs) for security certifications, by attending NITSIG meetings.

  • NITSIG members will be added to the NITSIG e-mail distribution list and receive meeting presentations and other relevant Insider Threat Risk Mitigation resources.

  • NITSIG members will receive a monthly Cyber Security-Insider Threat News E-Magazine with the last information on Cyber Threats and Insider Threats.

 

 

NITSIG Membership Application

To join the NITSIG you must complete and sign the NITSIG Membership Application and Code of Ethics. Instructions for sending the membership application and code of ethics to the NITSIG are in the membership application. A valid photo ID will need to be presented for admittance to NITSIG meetings.

NITSIG meetings are currently held at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU-APL), in Laurel, Maryland.
